Label TextThe text of this page includes the first few lines of the seven penitential psalms from a book of hours. In the illumination we see Christ sitting on a celestial rainbow judging the dead, who are rising up from the ground. The Virgin Mary and St. John the Baptist intercede on their behalf. Two angels in the heavens blow trumpets to signal the end of the world and the coming of the New Jerusalem that follows afterward.
