Label TextThe lekanis is a lidded container for small objects and was often presented as a bridal gift. This example is decorated with images of women wearing jewelry and the sakkos, a cloth covering for the hair also seen on other objects in the case. Jewelry, elaborate hairstyles, and fine clothing were as fashionable and in flux as they are today.
