Label Text:The title Post R puns on the words "poster" and "R" (for Romania). Dan appears in each of the four posters, displaying his bicep with the word "Romania," which he had tattooed on his arm in a 1993 performance. In this way, he exhibits his connection to his country, one that the posters critique. Each poster presents the contradictions between the present and a mythic idea of Romania.

This one states, "Always between two empires" and depicts a Christian Orthodox Church sandwiched between two ugly high-rise buildings as a signifier for Romania always caught between Empires.
