Label TextDiego Camposeco’s family migrated to North Carolina from Mexico in the early 1990s as part of a large wave of immigrants that has made North Carolina home to one of the fastest growing Latino populations in the country. The symbols and colors Camposeco uses in his photographs are informed by his Mexican American background, and an interest in how the migrant worker economy has influenced southern landscapes and culture. Through first-hand experiences, Camposeco examines how Latino immigrants have changed physical spaces and maintained surrounding landscapes through their own labor and cultures.
